Virginia R. Jacoby, 83, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Sat. Oct. 31, 2009, at Riverview Hospital.

Virginia was born July 9, 1926, in Cable to Alexander and Hazel (Sheldon) Brown.  She was united in marriage to Franklin “Hunce” Jacoby June 12, 1945, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.

Virginia worked as a cook for many restaurants in the Wisconsin Rapids area and was famous for her pies and soups.  She enjoyed attending family gatherings at Hatfield and sitting around the campfire with family and friends.  She also liked to garden and sew and enjoyed flowers and birds.

Survivors include her husband, Hunce, of Wisconsin Rapids; seven children, Darlene (Allen) Ceshker of Slinger, David (Peggy) Jacoby of Wisconsin Rapids, Dennis (Becky) Jacoby of Nekoosa, Dawn (Chuck) Hahn of Philips, Deanna (Joe) Fidler of Wisconsin Rapids, Doris (Mike) Laskowski of Wisconsin Rapids and Dan Jacoby of Wisconsin Rapids; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother Ralph (Elaine) Brown of Maine; one sister, Barbara Klemm of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Shane; two infant granddaughters; a special nephew, Duane Sonderegger; four brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wed., Nov. 4, at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Reverend Alan Wierzba will officiate.
