(24 Mar. 1926 – 30 May 2009) Virginia "Ginger" M. Stensberg, 83, of Marshfield died Sat. May 30, 2009, at the Hewitt House under the loving care of Ministry Home Hospice Care. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wed., June 3, 2009, at St. John's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel officiating. Suzanne Golden along with St. John's Funeral Choir will provide the music for the services. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tues. at the Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) in Marshfield and at 9:30 a.m. until time of the services Wed. at the church. There will be a combined rosary service at 4 p.m. Tues. at the funeral home by St. John's Parish and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. Ginger was born in Wisconsin Rapids on March 24, 1926, to Albert and Margaret (Maguire) Olson. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and then married Kenneth W. Stensberg on February 21, 1948, in Wisconsin Rapids. She was a homemaker and enjoyed time with her grandchildren. Ginger also spent many happy times up North at the family cottage. She is survived by her husband, Ken, children, Douglas (Marcy) Stensberg of Marshfield and Cheryl (Pat) Lauby of Wisconsin Rapids; five grandchildren, Todd (Marie) Stensberg of Stratford, Jason Lauby of Nekoosa; Sam (Laura) Stensberg of Spencer; Josh (Tara Culligan) Lauby of Chicago, Ill., and Jamie (Matt) Steiner of Marshfield; four great-grandchildren, Abigail and Josie Stensberg, William Stensberg and Alexzander Steiner. She is further survived by a brother, Robert J. (Joan) Olson of Wisconsin Rapids, and a sister, Verna Yetter of Wisconsin Rapids. Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Rhonda, and a brother, Ervin Olson.
