Robert D. Maxwell, 66, of 248 Cranbrook Court, Nekoosa, died Fri. evening, Oct. 31, 2008, at Riverview Hospital.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tues., Nov. 4, at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mon. and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Tues..

Robert D. Maxwell, 66, of 248 Cranbrook Court, Nekoosa, died Fri. evening, Oct. 31, 2008, at Riverview Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tues., Nov. 4, at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home. The Rev. Al Helms will officiate. Military rites will be provided by VFW Post 2534.

Robert was born Sept. 4, 1942, in Wisconsin Rapids to Neil and Grace (Lubeck) Maxwell. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. His first marriage ended in divorce. He married Kathy L. Fish on Aug. 21, 1982, in Wisconsin Rapids.

He served his country with the U.S. Marines in Vietnam from 1963-1964. He was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc. on the service crew. He retired in May 1995 due to disability.

Robert was a member of the Creepers Car Club, Rome Sno-Bandits, Rome Lions Club, and the United Methodist Church of Wisconsin Rapids.

He enjoyed working on old, classic cars and motorcycles and doing remodeling projects around the house. He also enjoyed watching his daughter perform with the Shermalot Water Ski Team and supported her through all life decisions.

Robert is survived by his wife, Kathy and daughter, Stefanie A. Maxwell of Nekoosa; two brothers, George (Gean) Maxwell of Baraboo and Ron (Mary) Maxwell of State College, Pennsylvania; six nieces and four nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mon. and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Tues..
