Hutter, Wayne N. (15 Feb. 1923 - 10 May 2009)

BELOIT -- Wayne N. Hutter, 86, of Beloit, died Sun. May 10, 2009, in the Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Port Edwards, the son of William and Elizabeth Resler Hutter. Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II with the Asiatic Pacific Theatre on the USS Darke. He married Dolores Gessert on May 14, 1947, in Bakerville.

Wayne was a farmer until moving to Beloit in 1955. He formerly worked for Fairbanks Morse Company, Pepsi Bottling Company, and was head of maintenance for 25 years with Brother Dutton School and Hononegah High School until his retirement in 1992. Wayne was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, where he belonged to the St. Jude Holy Name Society, Third Order of St. Francis and St. Elizabeth Fraternity. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, playing music and bird watching.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dolores Hutter of Beloit; three sons, William Hutter of Clayton, N.C., Joseph (Nancy) Hutter, and Gene (Beth) Hutter, both of Beloit; six daughters, Sharon (Phil) Winkelman, Bonnie (Gary) Johnson, Judy (James) Snudden, Shirley Hutter, Mary (James) Driscoll and Betty Kamppi, all of Beloit; 23 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Rosaline) Hutter of Marshfield; three sisters, Beatrice Sojka and Delores (Floyd) Kumm, both of Pittsville, and Dorothy Smith of Marshfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; two daughters, Carol and Rosanne; a brother, Harold Hutter; and a sister, Gladys Wolf.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Fri., May 15, 2009, in St. Jude Catholic Church, 747 Hackett St., Beloit, with the Rev. Steve Kortendick officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thur. from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, with a Rosary to be recited at 4:45 p.m.
