(25 Apr. 1925 - 8 May 2009) MARSHFIELD -- Delbert W. Allgood, 84, died Fri., May 8, 2009, at the House of the Dove Hospice, in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tues., May 12, at the First Presbyterian Church, in Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until service time Tues. at the church. "Del" Allgood, 84, of Marshfield, died Fri., May 8, 2009, at the House of the Dove Hospice Home, in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tues., May 12, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church, in Marshfield. The Rev. Don Houdeshell will officiate, and Maldon Plank will be the organist for Duane Helgerson as soloist. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery, in Marshfield, and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54. The visitation will be held Tues. from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the First Presbyterian Church. Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) is assisting the family. Del was born April 25, 1925, in Pine City, Minn., to Fred C. and Elsie (Schwatken) Allgood. He graduated from Pine City High School in 1942 and from Duluth Business College in 1948. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II from 1943 until 1946 and was stationed in New Guinea and the Philippines. He and Marjorie A. Woodkey were united in marriage Sept. 27, 1948, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Marshfield. She died Jan. 25, 1998. He later married Audrey Gazdik on April 27, 2002. He was employed by Sears Roebuck in Marrinette for three years. He then began Marshfield Factory Outlet Store with his brother-in-law, Frank Gillespie. The name was later changed to Marshfield Furniture and he retired from the business in 1990. After retirement, he worked for Financial Investors and later did volunteer work at Saint Joseph's Hospital from 1995 until 2001. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. He is survived by his wife, Audrey, and by three daughters, a son, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His children are Lynne (Dale) Kundinger of Marshfield and their children, Travis (Jamie) Kundinger and their children, Madelynne, Payge and Mayce, and Derek (Megan) Kundinger and their daughter Morgan; Todd Allgood of Rhinelander and his children, Mara (Eric) Matuska and Emily Allgood and friend J.J. O'Brien; Ann (Phil) Kamps of Rogers, Minn., and their children, Gavin and Sydney; and Joan Tritz of Marshfield and her children, Dana Tritz and her children, Marissa and Gunner and Amber Tritz. He is also survived by stepchildren, Shelly (Dale) Anderson and their children, David (Katie) Anderson, Derek (Brooke) Anderson and Dane Anderson; and Randy (Marylou) Gazdik and their children, Paul and Kelly. He is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Audrey (Joe) Hein of Stevens Point and Iline Kay of Wautoma. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, and his sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Frank Gillespie. Memorials may be designated to the First Presbyterian Church. |
