(5 June 1917 - 9 May 2009) AUBURNDALE -- Hilda J. Grassl, 91, of Auburndale, died Sat. May 9, 2009, at Deerview Meadows Assisted Living, in Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wed., May 13 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Auburndale. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tues. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI), in Marshfield, and from 10 a.m. until service time Wed. at St. Mary's Church. ************************** ----Source: Marshfield News Herald, Marshfield, Wood Co., WI, Mon., 11 May 2009 AUBURNDALE -- Hilda J. Grassl, 91, of Auburndale, died Sat. May 9, 2009, at Deerview Meadows Assisted Living, in Marshfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wed., May 13 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Auburndale. The Rev. Bernard Raschke will officiate and music will be provided by St. Mary's Choir and congregational singing. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held Tues. from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI), in Marshfield, and Wed. from 10 a.m. until service time at St. Mary's Church. A parish rosary service will be held Tues. at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Grassl was born June 5, 1917, in the town of Perry, in Dane County to Emil and Mary (Sigg) Zeller. She attended Milladore schools. She and George I. Grassl were united in marriage June 22, 1943, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Auburndale. He died Feb. 3, 1992. Before her marriage, Hilda was employed in Milwaukee and later at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory, in Marshfield. After their marriage, she raised her family and farmed with her husband in the town of Milladore. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary's Christian Mothers Society. She is survived by her children, Myron (Linda) Grassl of Edgar, Raymond (Maryann) Grassl Sr. of Vesper, Kathleen (Joseph) Walter Sr. of Loyal, Karen (Michael) Jeske of Auburndale, Donna (Steven) Jeske Sr. of Wisconsin Rapids, and Diane (Leonard) Kremer Sr. of Auburndale. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a sister, Marie Linquist, and a brother, Emil Zeller. The family wishes to thank the staff at Deerview Meadows and Ministry Home Hospice for their loving care. |
