(27 Aug. 1929 - 8 May 2009) Phyllis J. Schalow, 79, of Marshfield died Fri., May 8, 2009, at Golden LivingCenter-Three Oaks, Marshfield. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tues. at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mon. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI), Marshfield, and Tues. at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time. ************************** ----Source: Marshfield News Herald, Marshfield, Wood Co., WI, Mon., 11 May 2009 Phyllis J. Schalow Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tues., May 12, 2009, at Christ Lutheran Church, in Marshfield. The Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate and Mary Castner will be the organist for Duane Helgerson as soloist and congregational singing. Serving as pallbearers will be her four brothers-in-law Jerry Schalow, Jim Schalow, Ken Schalow and Doug Brandt and her two nephews Jeff Schalow and Jon Schalow, and burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery. The visitation will be held Mon. from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI), in Marshfield and Tues. from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Christ Lutheran Church. Phyllis was born Aug. 27, 1929, in Marshfield to Fred C. and Mona (Spellman) Wolff. She was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. She and Russell R. Schalow Sr. were united in marriage March 25, 1950, at Christ Lutheran Church, in Marshfield. He died Nov. 28, 2000. Throughout the years, Phyllis worked at various Marshfield businesses, including Mawell's, Modern Sleep and Distributors Warehouse. She was also a proud mother of her four children and involved in each of their lives. She found great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Sandy (Joe) Burggraf of Wisconsin Rapids, Karen (Marc) Olson of Auburndale, Russell Schalow Jr. of Spencer and Brian (Donna) Schalow of Stratford. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Tanya (Josh) Griepentrog and their children, Aidan and Carter; Ashley Schalow, Aaron Schalow, Ryan Schalow, Allysa Olson, Adam Olson and Cali Olson. She is further survived by two sisters, Betty (Jim) Conklin of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Sharon (Doug) Brandt of Freeport, Ill. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and a brother, Robert Wolff. Life is not measured by the breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away. "Thanks Mom for all the moments!" The family will designate a memorial in her name at a later date. |
