Carpenter, Violet M. (24 July 1917 - 13 July 1996)

Violet M. Carpenter, 78, of 205 N. Chestnut Ave., died at 8:03 p.m. July 13, 1996, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit where she was admitted on June 21.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tues. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. The Rev. James J. Logan, pastor, will officiate. Helen Brinkman will be the organist for Frank Binder, soloist.

Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy Gropp, Dennis Buehler, Ronald Konopa, Raymond Rasmussen, DuWayne Strebe and Ted Griepentrog.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Rembs/Kundinger Chapel and again until service time on Tues.. A Marshfield Area Missionary Society Rosary Service will be at 5:00 p.m. today; and a Knights of Columbus Rosary, combined with an Our Lady of Peace Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. today, all at the funeral chapel.

She was born July 24, 1917, in Green Bay, to Anton and Mathilda (Fiedler) Eckes. She was married to Andrew G. Regele on June 29, 1939, at St. John’s Catholic Church. He died on Sept. 7, 1972. She was then married to Victor I. Carpenter on Aug. 26, 1988, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. He died on June 20, 1996.

Mrs. Carpenter moved to the Marshfield area as a child with her parents, from their home in Green Bay. She was educated at Shady Lane School in the town of Lincoln.

After her first marriage, Violet and Andrew farmed in the town of Lincoln until his death. Violet continued to reside on the farm until moving to Marshfield in 1980. She did volunteer work at St. Joseph’s Hospital and the St. Vincent dePaul Store.

Violet was a member of the Senior Citizens Club, Sun.ine Breakfast Club, Sierra Club, Our Lady of Peace Parish Council of Catholic Women, the former Catholic Daughters of America, Notre Dame Court No. 926, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and the Marshfield Area Missionary Society.

She is survived by five sons, Dennis (Kathy) Regele and Victor F. (Nancy) Carpenter, all of Marshfield, William (Shirley) Carpenter of Wisconsin Rapids, Robert Carpenter of Spencer and Floyd (Edna) Carpenter of Bensonville, Ill.; five daughters, Lucille (James) Beery of Rhinelander, Carol (Jim) Reid of Tulsa, Okla.; Jonae (Jim) Waldhart of Spencer; Janice (Bill) Parks of Waukesha and Connie Moldenhauer of Coon Rapids, Minn.; 29 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Lisa Regele in 1968; her parents; and one brother.
