Mann, Luella (29 July 1925 - 25 Apr. 2009)

Luella Mann, 83, 3768 Highway 13 N., died Sat.morning at her residence

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tues. at Calvary Baptist Church, Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mon. at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tues. at the church.

Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Luella M. Mann, 83, of Wisconsin Rapids, went quietly to meet her Lord Sat.morning, April 25, 2009, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tues. at Calvary Baptist Church. The Revs. Jack Austin and Jonathan Jenks will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Luella was born July 29, 1925, in Wisconsin Rapids to John H. and Edith A. (Wilson) Luth. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943 and worked at the Wood County Telephone Company prior to her marriage. She married Val D. Mann on March 2, 1946, at Calvary Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids.

She was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church and served as a Sun.school teacher and primary superintendent, Women's Missionary Fellowship member and officer, and was an organizer of the Hilltoppers. She was also a member of the Vesper Crochet Hookers. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, flower gardening and reading books by the fire.

Luella is survived by her husband, Val; five children: James (Chris) Mann of Rib Lake, Dennis (DeEtt) Mann of Wisconsin Rapids, Thomas (Phyllis) Mann of Wisconsin Rapids, Linda (Steve) Dougherty of Wisconsin Rapids, and Gerald (Cheryll) Mann of Meade, Kan.; one sister, Laura (Jess) Goben of Cottonwood, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren: Cheryl (Jon) Peli, Tracy (Grady) Hartman, Pat (Sarah) Mann, Valaria Phillipich, Rachael (Eric) Stone, Ruth (Luke) Bossard, Jon Mann, Kathryn Mann, Marie (Bryan) Marschke, Emily (Trevor) Smith, Benjamin Mann, Kevin Dougherty, Keith (Christen) Dougherty, Gregory Dougherty, Jeremy Mann, Sarah (Daniel) Burdash, Joshua Mann, and Josiah Mann; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Matthew Luth, Francis Vollert, John Luth Jr., Doris Anderson, Hazel Anderson, Albert Luth, Florence Bullis, and Georgia Dahlquist.

Friends may call at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mon. and from 10 a.m. until time of services Tues. at the church.

Memorials are preferred to the Camp Fairwood Cabin Construction Project.

The family would like to thank the Wisconsin Rapids Care Center, Riverview Hospital Rehabilitation and Ministry Home Care Hospice for the exceptional care given to Luella.
