Victoria G. Szymanski, 97, of Marshfield died Wed., April 15, 2009, at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Mon. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield, where the visitation will be held Mon. from 10 a.m. until service time.

Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) is assisting the family.

Victoria G. Szymanski, 97, Marshfield, died peacefully Wed., April 15, 2009, at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, with her family by her side.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Mon., April 20, 2009, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Donald Meuret will officiate and music will be provided by a grandson-in-law, Gary Clausing. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The visitation will be held Mon. at Our Lady of Peace Church from 10 a.m. until service time. Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) is assisting the family.

Mrs. Szymanski was born Jan. 3, 1912, in Owen, the daughter of Francis and Wladyslawa (Wojciechowska) Salwach. She was united in marriage to Felix J. Szymanski on Aug. 27, 1932, at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, Thorp. He died April 27, 2002.

After their marriage, the Szymanskis farmed in the Withee area. They moved to Marshfield after their retirement in 1989. Victoria will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed Polish polka music and dancing with her husband. In recent years, she had resided at Wells Nature View Assisted Living on South Apple Avenue.

Victoria is survived by four children, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her children are John (Carol) Szymanski, Josephine (Don) Ruder, Mary Ann (Ronald) Machtan, all of Marshfield, and Jane (Gary) Welsch of Denmark. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Al (Carol) Szymanski of Baraboo and their children, Jake, Julie and Joel; Sue (Rich) Lemley of Milwaukee; Maria (Gary) Clausing of Cedarburg and their children, Jenna and Evan; Randy Ruder of Mamoroneck, N.Y.; Richard Ruder of Juneau; Terry (Mel) Ruder of Plainfield, Ill., and their children, Nicholas and Joshua; and Mark (Lori) Machtan of Marshfield and their daughter, Melissa. She is further survived by a brother, Ted (Lucille) Salwach of Wausau; and a sister, Angie Persick of Milwaukee. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and two sisters.

Memorials may be designated to Our Lady of Peace Improvement Fund.
