Claire taught at All Saints School in Jersey City, Our Lady of Peace in Marshfield and at St. Mary's in Greenwood. She loved teaching and was a masterful teacher of reading and math. Although she retired decades before, up until the day she died Mrs. Meyer continued to receive letters and hugs from her former students. Claire's family was blessed in that she was able to say personal good-byes to each of them. They are also thankful for the compassionate care she received from the nurses on the Palliative Care Unit. In her memory, a fund to buy books for the next generations of readers will be established at Our Lady of Peace School library.
