Schrader, Ada E. (18 Dec. 1907 – 23 Aug. 1992)

Mrs. Ada E. Schrader, 84, of 610 Holly Ave., died at 6:08 a.m. Sun. at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit, where she had been admitted Aug. 9.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Sat. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis A. Wavra officiating. Mrs. Helen Brinkmann will be the organist, and Frank Binder will be the soloist. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 10 a.m. until service time Sat.

Rembs/Kundinger Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Dec. 18, 1907, in the town of Milladore, Wood County, to the late William A. and Margaret (Baltus) Schultz. She attended town of Milladore elementary schools, Auburndale High School, Wood County Normal School in Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point Teachers College, now the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

She was married to Oscar Schrader April 11, 1942, in Wisconsin Rapids. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in 1982. He died Jan. 26, 1983.

After her education, she taught in rural elementary schools in Wood County. She also was a teacher at Our Lady of Peace Parochial School for a number of years. She and her husband moved to Racine in 1959, and she taught at the Gilbert Knapp Elementary School there until her retirement. Her teaching career spanned more than 30 years. Her husband was associated with the J. I. Case Co. in Racine. They moved to Rock Dam in 1976, and she resided there until the death of her husband. She then moved to Marshfield and had resided here until the time of her death.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Racine County Retired Teachers Association, the Marshfield Area Retired Teachers Association, the Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association, the Catholic Daughters of America Court Notre Dame No. 926 and the Marshfield Senior Citizens. She was a former member of Holy Family Catholic Church of Willard and the Rock Dam Rod and Gun Club. She was also a former member and past president of the Greenwood Senior Citizens Club.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Margaret Krings of Auburndale, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by infant twin sons, three brothers and two sisters.

Memorials may be given in her name to St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit or the Marshfield Medical Foundation for cancer and heart research.
