Schreiner, Elmer H. (1 Mar. 1934 – 30 June 1987)

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Mon. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, for Elmer H. Schreiner Jr., 53, Marshfield, who died at 1:48 p.m. Tues. at Doctor’s Hospital, Lake Worth, Fla. He had been visiting his son, Rick, in Lake Worth.

The Rev. Peter J. Leketas will officiate and Mrs. Helen Brinkmann will be organist for the Men’s Trio. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.

Pallbearers will be Wallace Henseler, Donald Schnitzler, Robert McHugh, Donald Hiller, Floyd Schultz and Lyle Tempas.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Sun.and again on Mon. until service time at the Rembs/Kundinger Chapel, Marshfield, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sun.

He was born March 1, 1934, in Marshfield, to Elmer and Christine Schreiner. He attended St. Mary’s Parochial School, Bakerville, and was a 1953 graduate of Columbus High School. After his education, he became affiliated with Schreiner’s, Inc., in Marshfield.

He married Ellen A. Rose July 14, 1956, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield. She survives. In 1966, he moved to Denver, Colo., where he was employed until 1969, when he returned to Marshfield and became associated with Central State Supply. He later was employed by various mechanical contractors in the area.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, and of Local 778, United Plumbers and Pipe Fitters. He was a former member of the Marshfield National Guard and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving, besides his wife, are four daughters, Mrs. Mark (Linda) Schlichter of Nashville, Tenn.; and Pam, Kelly and Kim Schreiner, all of Marshfield; two sons, Rick of Lake Worth, Fla., and Steve of Green Acres, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Clarice McDonald of Denver, Mrs. Norman (Gerrie) Domach of Brookfield, and Mrs. Barbara Hannon of Aurora, Ohio; two brothers, James and Paul, both of Marshfield; his mother, Mrs. Christine M. Schreiner of Marshfield and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter in infancy and his father.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Support Group.
