Fleisner, Joseph A. (29 Mar. 1920 – 18 Nov. 1994)

Joseph A. Fleisner, 74, of 707 S. Apple Ave., died at 5 p.m. Nov. 18, 1994, in the Emergency Room of St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tues. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Peter Leketas and the Rev. Paul Koenig officiating. Music will be provided by Maldon Plank, organist, and John F. Bender, Jim Eckes and Francis Plank will sing.

Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 54 and VFW Post 1866. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth and Thomas Fleisner, Jason Wendell, Marvin Schlinsog, Walter Mannigel and Leo Schueller.

Visitation will be from 4-8:30 tonight at the Hansen Funeral Home and again on Tues. until 10:30 a.m. There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 8 tonight.

He was born March 29, 1920, to Frank and Anna (Strupp) Fleisner. He received his education from St. John’s Elementary and McKinley High schools.

He married Elaine Trierweiler on July 5, 1947, at St. John’s Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater at New Guinea. After his discharge, he returned to Marshfield and was employed at L. L. Felker Co. He later was employed by K&M Electric, where he worked as a master electrician. This company later became Town & Country Electric and he was a part owner there until his retirement.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1799, American Legion Post 54 and VFW Post 1866. He served on the Respiratory Therapy Board of Mid-State Technical College.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Joseph G. (Barbara) Fleisner of Marshfield; four daughters, Linda (Dwayne) Wendell and Susan (David) Gaulke, all of Marshfield, Carolyn (Robert) Rudin of Fridley, Minn., and Mary (Paul) Ott of Hewitt; and 10 grand-children.

He was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, Clem, Frank, Edward and John Fleisner; and by infant twin brothers.

Memorials may be designated to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, American Heart Association, or Marshfield Medical Foundation for Research.
