Follendorf, Violet Marie (19 Dec. 1923 – 8 Nov. 2008)

Violet Marie Follendorf, 85, of 271 16th Ave. N., Wisconsin Rapids, died early Sat.morning, Nov. 8, 2008, at the Wisconsin Rapids Care Center.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tues. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Carl Schroeder will officiate. Private family entombment will be Wed. in Hillside Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Marshfield.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mon. at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, and from 12:30 p.m. until time of services Tues. at the church.

A complete obituary will appear in Mon.'s edition of the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune and the Marshfield News-Herald.

Violet was born in Nasonville, on Dec. 19, 1923, to Peter and Mayme (Peterson) Schubert. She was baptized on Jan. 27, 1927, at the ME Parsonage in Lindsey. She graduated from Marshfield High School in 1941.

Violet married Reuben Follendorf on Sept. 19, 1948, at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield. She was employed at Consumer's Store in Marshfield, Sears in Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids and the Wood County Courthouse in Wisconsin Rapids in the treasurer's and register of deeds offices from 1968 until her retirement on Feb. 7, 1987.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Lowell Senior Center.

Survivors include her husband: Reuben; one son, Jeffrey (Sharon) Follendorf of Columbus, Indiana; two daughters, Christine Gregory of Camano Island, Wash., and Catherine (Kevin) Kleckner of Neillsville; seven grandchildren, Bryan Follendorf, Michael Follendorf, Curt (Alissa) Schaffer, Tina (Ryan) Yotter, and Tabitha, Tonya and Nathaniel Kleckner; and three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Makayla Schaffer and Kailey Yotter. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother (Forrest Schubert).

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids and from 12:30 p.m. until time of services Tues. at the church.

Memorial may be designated, in Violet's name, to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
