(23 Sept. 1926 – 13 Dec. 2004) Loretta A. Lair, age 78, of Grand View, died Mon., December 13, 2004, at St Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minn. She was born September 23, 1926, in Auburndale, the daughter of Joseph and Sophia (Neumann) Pankratz. She attended St Michael's School in Hewitt, In 1946 she married Ernest D. Lair. He preceded her in death in 1977. In 1978 she married Eugene S. Lair. He preceded her in death in 1992. Loretta lived in Chicago, Wheaton and Napervilie, Ill., Bull Schoals, Ark. and retired in Grand View. Her hobbies included gardening, yard work, knitting, crocheting and playing cards. She is survived by three children, Ernest J. (Martha) Lair of Florence, S.C., Harold T. (Liz) Lair of Polson, Mont. and Elizabeth M. Lair of Portland, Ore., four grandchildren, Shauna Lair and Derek Lair of Florence, S.C., Zachary (Jaime) Lair of Mesa, Ariz. and Kevin Lair and his fiancee, Merideth Likens of LaGrande, Ore.; a step-granddaughter, Caitlin of Mesa, Ariz.; five siblings, Philomene Schneider, Loraine Oscar-Gerges, Josephine Delbert-Konrady and John Pankratz, all of Marshfield, and Veronica Kreckler of Auburndale; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including many close friends in the Grand View and Ashland area. Besides her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Fri. at the Roberts Funeral Home in Ashland. Lay Pastor John Nedden-Durst will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Fri., at the funeral home. Spring burial will take place in the Grand View Cemetery.
