Zertler, 78, Phillips, Town of Worcester, died in the St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls, Wis., on Mon., February 12, 2007. She was born on May 15, 1928, in Waukesha, the daughter of Margaret and Wilfred Hughes. She was a 1946 graduate of the Marshfield High School and attended the Rochester School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn. She was married to Arthur Zertler on April 17, 1958 in Marshfield. She was employed as the after-hours dispatcher for the Price Electric Co-Op for many years. She was a member or St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, was a member and Past President of the Price County chapter of the Association for Retarded Children, and was a costume designer and seamstress for the Northwood Players. In her free time she enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, crocheting, and visiting with her friends. She is survived by her husband, Arthur; four children, David (Carol) Beck, Medford, Bill (Colleen) Zertler, Menominee, Kathy (Mike) Tingo, Medford, and Patti Zertler, Park Falls; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard (Shirley) Hughes, Phillips. She was preceded in death by one son, Dan. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat. Feb. 17, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the Funeral Mass. Inurnment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Sat. The Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips is assisting the family with arrangements.
