Patrie, Virgil Joseph (8 May 1933 – 29 June 2000)

Phillips -- Virgil J. Patrie, Phillips, passed away on Thur., June 29, 2000 at the Flambeau Medical Center, Park Falls at the age of 67. He was born on May 8, 1933 in Rozellville, Wisc., the son of Joseph and Anna (Fuch) Patrie.

He spent his early life and schooling in Rozellville. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1954 to 1956. He was married to Georgia Hunter on May 17, 1956 in Marshfield. He was employed as a welder at Felker Industries in Marshfield until 1974. He and his wife then owned and operated various restaurants in central Wisconsin including the Phillips Cafe from 1974 to 1976, then Dairy Delight in Phillips from 1976 to 1978. They retired in 1992.

He is survived by his wife Georgia "Dolly" Patrie, Phillips; three sons, Gary (Jackie) Dan (Linda) and Rich, all of Phillips; six grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Gebelein, Rozellville and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters, Delia Fuerlinger and Margaret Steder.

A memorial service will be held on Wed., July 5 at 11 a.m. at the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church, Phillips, with Pastor Terry Sellers officiating.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. on Wed. at the church until the hour of the service.

The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the service.
