Stini, Gilbert F. (29 July 1916 – 13 Nov. 2008)

Gilbert F. Stini, 92, of Marshfield, died peacefully Thur., Nov. 13, 2008, at the Hewitt House with family at his side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Tues., Nov. 18, 2008, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Don Meuret officiating. Suzanne Golden will be the organist along with Michael Gonering as the vocalist. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Stini, Michelle Theisen, Nathan Stini, Brandon Willems, Dustin Stini and Jason Stini. Honorary pallbearer is Brent Ziegler.

Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mon. at the Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) in Marshfield. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Mon. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI).

He was born in Marshfield on July 29, 1916, to Joseph and Mary (Dieringer) Stini. He attended Lone Elm Elementary School in the town of Lincoln, Wood County.

He married the one true love of his life, Delphine A. Martin, on Sept. 7, 1944, in Marshfield. She died on Oct. 4, 1982, after being married for 38 years.

He lived and worked on the family farm most of his life. After selling the farm in 1971, he was employed at Weyerhaeuser Co. until he retired in 1979. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, dancing and listening to music. He loved a good joke and was a great storyteller. His biggest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

He moved to Norris Manor in 1985, where he lived for 21 years. In 2006, he moved to Well's Nature View CBRF, and for the last five weeks, he was a resident at the Hewitt House, where he received loving care from everyone and they quickly made him part of their family. He will be greatly missed by all of those who loved him.

He is survived by his loving children, Arnie (Colleen) Stini, Marshfield, Vic (Linda) Stini, Marshfield, Virgean (James) Ziegler, Marshfield, Vern (Sharon) Stini, Marshfield, Mary (Curly) Carpenter, Marshfield, Joe (Kathy) Stini, Marshfield, and Kathy (Steve) Willems, Marshfield.

He was the proud grandfather and great-grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who always brought a smile to his face.

He is further survived by two brothers, Clarence (Agnes) Stini of Marshfield and Anton "Tony" Stini of Neillsville; and five sisters, Helen Schiller of Athens, Ann (Norbert) Merkes of Edgar, Cindy (Shorty) Kopp of Stratford, Margaret Donnerbauer of Marshfield and Loretta Laumer of California.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delphine; two sons, Darrell and John, and a daughter, Beverly, all in infancy; three brothers, Michael, Joseph and Norbert Stini; and four sisters, Florence Werner, Mary Reel, Marcella Bargander and Mildred Manigel.
