----Surnames: Beseler, Dorpat ----Source: Marshfield News-Herald (Wood Co., Wis.) 31 Dec. 1928 Arnold Oscar Beseler Insurance Salesman Arnold Oscar Beseler, son of Mrs. W. H. Beseler, 313 North Maple Street, was born in Marshfield, August 24, 1903. His home is at 613 South Cherry Street. Finishing the Immanuel Lutheran school, he attended the McKinley High School, from which he graduated in 1923. In his freshman year he was president of his class, in his sophomore year vice-president of his class. In high school athletics he was active on the football team in 1920, 1921 and 1922, playing left half-back. During the summer vacation seasons he was employed as a helper on a Soo Line section crew and as a trucker in the Soo Line Freight Depot. After completing his high school training he accepted a position as assistant bookkeeper in the American National Bank, which he held a year. Leaving the bank, he worked a few months in the culvert department of the Felker Manufacturing Company and then became identified with the Prudential Life Insurance Company of Newark, New Jersey, four years ago as a salesman and has been with it since. Mr. Beseler was married to Miss Helen Dorpat, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Dorpat, Marshfield, in this city, November 11, 1923. He has three children, Frank 4, June 2 and Lois 1. He is a member of the Marshfield Lodge of Elks and an ex-member of Company C, 128th Infantry, Wis. National Guard, with which he served six years, the last four years as a line sergeant. Politically, he is a Republican.
