News: Auburndale (21 Nov. 1914) Contact: Ken Wood Surnames: Friedrich, Berg, Greiner, McTavish, O’Brien, Fenninger, Connor, Franz, Markee, Kennedy, Haasl ----Source: Marshfield Herald (Wood Co., Wis.) Saturday, 21 Nov. 1914 Auburndale N. L. Berg was in Marshfield last Friday. Miss Olive Friedrich was a Marshfield visitor Tuesday. Wedding bells will soon be ringing in this small burg of ours. Miss Rose Greiner left for Marshfield Sunday where she will be employed. Miss Nettie McTavish, primary teacher, visited in Stevens Point over Sunday. Wesley O'Brien, in company with some boys from Loyal, left for Mellen, Saturday to hunt deer. Edward Fenninger has accepted a position as clerk in the R. Connor store. Mr. Fenninger's home is in New London. Miss Mayme Greiner arrived here from Evanston, Ill., Thursday evening. She returned on account of illness. Miss Adela Franz, Elsie Friedrich, and Florence Markee and Mrs. Ray Kennedy went to Marshfield Wednesday between trains. The Stecker Bros. dance that was given here Friday evening, Nov. 13th, was not very largely attended, but everybody reported a very good time. The Catholic Order of Foresters of St. Mary's Catholic church gave a German play Tuesday evening, Nov. 17th, in Baierl's Hall. A dance was given after the play a very large crowd attended. John Haasl has issued an announcement of a dance to be given in his hall Wednesday evening, Nov. 25th. An orchestra of the Second Regiment band will furnish the music. A turkey supper will be served at midnight. Everybody is invited to attend.
