Mrs. Hattie Johnson called on Mrs. Pearl last Sunday.

Mr. Mytner is hauling lumber for a new building on his place.

Mr. Cutler has quite a large stack yard for this neighborhood. Mesdames Jennings and McCrillis went to Pittsville shopping last Thursday.

Several parties are interested in getting wild grass on the marshes north of Bethel.

Eld. Mikkelson, and some others were in Marshfield on business one day the fore part of last week.

Mr. McChesney has been employing his leisure time in pulling stumps with his Chamberlain puller.

Mr. Foote and two sons, Lee and Floyd made it lively near the Academy store blowing stumps last Wednesday and Thursday.

The dry weather last week gave the farmers in this vicinity opportunity to stack their oats, which work is pretty well done already. Two ladies picking blackberries In the woods southeast of Bethe heard indications of a bear recent ly, George Cole and Carl Phillips went in search of it but could no find it.

Miss Verna McIntosh of Lodi is visiting her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Greenman and cousins, the Misses. Ohnstead and other relatives in this vicinity.

"And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water in the name of  disciple, varily I say unto you; he shall in no wise lose his reward." Matt. 10:42.

Mrs. Norn Harvey who is now working in the Wisconsin Tract Society's office at Grand Rapids, gala took up her position as superintendent of the Sabbath school last Sabbath.

Percy, the son of Mr. Gleffe, was attacked by similar symptoms to those of Prof. Spauldings little one; but prompt treatment was effective in restoring him to health again. Another child of Mr., Gleffe's, is now ill.

Eld. and Mrs. McReynolds were Sabbath visitor at Bethel last sabbath. They both seem to be in health, and as zealous as ever in. their respective work, missionary enterprizes and church and Subbath school -work, and both spoke on their work.

Prof, Spaulding's youngest child, a boy, has a severe attack of the cerebro spinal meningitis, and is now in a critical condition. Everything that medical skill can suggest is being done for the little one. Mrs. Sheppler took Prof. Spanlding's two older children to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hallock, who reside in Loyal, last Friday to be cared for during the severe illness of their baby brother.
