Rail Road Stores

The Grand Rapids correspondent for the Milwaukee Sentinel states that on the Marinette, Tomahawk & Western railway there is a new departure for this part of the country. The owners of the road have fitted up two cars to be used as stores, where dried apples, prunes, kerosene and soda crackers can be purchased as readily as at the cross-roads store. One of the cars is fitted up for a millinery store, so that the farmers' wives and daughters who live along the line of the road can run in and be fitted out in a dollar hat just imported from Paris. This new departure will prove of great benefit to that sparsely settled section of the state.
