Kronstedt, Gertrude C. (27 Feb. 1914 – 28 Nov. 2008)

WISCONSIN RAPIDS -- Gertrude C. Kronstedt, 94, of 130 Strawberry Lane, formerly of 911 11th St. S., died Fri., Nov. 28, 2008, at Riverview Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tues., Dec. 2, 2008, at First English Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kenneth Schaub will officiate. Burial is at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mon. at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until service time Tues. at the church.

A complete obituary will appear in Mon.'s edition of the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune.

Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gertrude was born Feb. 27, 1914, in the township of Sherry to William Sr. and Maria (Richardson) Hetze. She married Harold Kronstedt on Aug. 15, 1936, at the William Hetze Home in Sherry. He died Sept. 27, 1984.

She and Harold lived in the town of Sigel for a short time before moving to Wisconsin Rapids in the late 1930s. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, the Friendship Club, Loving Home Makers Club and taught Sun.school. Besides being a wife, mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother, she worked as a seasonal worker sorting cranberries and at Sampson Canning.

She enjoyed word puzzles, crocheting and knitting.

Survivors include her sons, Wayne (Barbara) Kronstedt of Wisconsin Rapids and Garry (friend, Sherry Rady) Kronstedt of Wisconsin Rapids; five grandchildren, Keith (Kimberly) Kronstedt of Wisconsin Rapids, Nancy Kronstedt of Nekoosa, Brian Kronstedt of Wisconsin Rapids, Sheila (Jeff) Knutson of Arpin and Bradley (Debra) Kronstedt of Wisconsin Rapids; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Ruth) Hetze of Junction City and Edwin (Lois) Hetze Sr. of Milladore; three sisters, Ruth (Orville) Stelzer of Vesper, Margaret (Harold) Marth of Milladore and Eleanor (Philip) Eimerman of Wisconsin Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Roger and daughter-in-law, Helen Kronstedt.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mon. at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Tues. at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or First English Lutheran Church.
