Oswald, Lucille M. (9 Nov. 1917 – 1 Dec. 2008)

Lucille M. Oswald, 91, of Marshfield, died Mon., Dec. 1, 2008, at Golden Memorial Living Center at Three Oaks.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Fri., Dec. 5, 2008, at Faith Lutheran Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Bob Lesher will officiate. Special music will be provided with Maldon Plank serving as organist.

Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Fri.. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.

Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home of Marshfield is assisting the family.

Lucille Maria Oswald was born Nov. 9, 1917, in the town of Warner in Clark County, a daughter of Henry and Elenora (Soefker) Olson. Lucy attended schools in Greenwood. She was united in marriage to Warren Oswald on Aug. 30, 1941, who died June 8, 1943, during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. Lucille later married Orville Oswald on Oct. 4, 1946, in Neillsville.

The Oswalds owned and operated a dairy farm in the Greenwood area. After they sold the farm, Lucille and Orville moved to Marshfield in 1982. Orville died on April 6, 2005.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the ladies' "Piece Corps." Lucy was very outgoing and loved socializing and was considered the family historian. Other interests included cooking, baking, and making quilts. A big part of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Oswald is lovingly survived by one son, Gary (Jeanette) Oswald, Marshfield; three grandchildren, Douglas Oswald, Stevens Point, Keith (Marguerite) Oswald, Chicago, Jennifer (Jeffrey) DuMez, Green Bay; five great-grandchildren, Lauren DuMez, Nicholas Oswald, Benjamin DuMez, Noah Oswald and Evelyn DuMez; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.

In addition to her husbands, Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Oswald; two brothers, Leo and Daniel Olson; and four sisters, Evelyn Turnquist-Danielson, Leona Turnquist, Sophi Crowley and Selma Olson.

The family of Lucille would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Golden Living Center Three Oaks for the loving and compassionate care that was given to Lucy.
