Tyler, John W. (11 Mar. 1941 – 12 Dec. 2008)

John W. Tyler, 67, 1170 N. Deer Ridge Dr., Port Edwards, passed away at his home early Fri. morning, Dec. 12, 2008, of lung disease after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Mon. at St. Alexander's Catholic Church in Port Edwards. The Rev. John Swing and Sister Catherine Kaiser will officiate. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Mausoleum.

John was born March 11, 1941, to Jack and Marion (Hunter) Tyler. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1959. He was married to E. Lynn Wills in February 1960. The marriage ended in divorce. He married Patricia "Pat" Olson Mori on May 22, 1976 in St. Paul, Minn.

John was a member of St. Alexander's Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked in the shipping department at Domtar for 37 years retiring in 2003.

Survivors include his wife Pat; their children David of Wausau and Kathryn "Katy" of Milwaukee; four children from his first marriage, Deborah (Robert) Price of Amherst Junction, Colleen (Mitch) Perkl of Pittsville, Kevin (Sara) Tyler of Crestview, Fla. and Scott (Ann) Tyler of Appleton; 11 grandchildren, Cassandra and Nicholas Horn, Ryan Perkl, Heather Wyerski, Michael and Nicole Tyler, Lacey, John and Samantha Tyler, Courtney and Megan Tyler and great-grandson John David Tyler; two brothers: Ronald (Dorothy) Tyler of Vesper and Jim Tyler of Lake Tomahawk; four sisters: Louise Whaples of Phillips, Donna (Don) Duda of Kenosha, Nancy (Bernard) Schoultz of Wisconsin Rapids and Cathy (Don) Roth of Junction City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald "Putz" Tyler.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sun. at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home.
