Obit: Barth, Ila (1915 – 2009)
----Surnames: Barth, Rinker, Klug, Kester, Dietsche, Karenjia, McCauley ----Source: Marshfield News Herald, Marshfield, Wood Co., WI, Thur., 8 Jan. 2009 Barth, Ila (2 Aug. 1915 – 6 Jan. 2009) Ila Barth, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Tues. afternoon, Jan. 6, 2009, at the Marshfield Care Center, where she had been a resident since late May 2008. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Sat. Jan. 10 at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Tammie Rinker will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Ila was born Aug. 2, 1915, the daughter of Otto and Elzina (Klug) Kester. She received her education in the Wisconsin Rapids public schools. She worked at Harvard Clothes and was an Avon sales representative. She was a lifelong member of the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church, where she was an active member of her Church Circle, which sewed hundreds of lap robes that were donated to health care centers. She married George Barth on Sept. 22, 1934, in Wis. He died Feb. 25, 1986. Surviving are her daughter, Rita (Bill) Dietsche, Marshfield; her grandson Scott (Stephanie) Dietsche, and their children, Kylie, Logan, and Kieran, all of Reston, Va. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Verna Kester and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, George; her parents, two sisters, Bette Smith and Lorinda Bates; and two brothers, Kenneth Kester and Robert Kester. Ila's family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Percy Karanjia, Dr. Charles McCauley, the staff members of Marshfield Care Center, and many friends for their visits and support. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Sat. at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Ila's name to the charity of their choice.
