Cutler, Roger W. (1 Apr. 1921 – 16 Jan. 2009)

Roger W. Cutler, 87, Arpin, died Fri., Jan. 16, 2009, at Saint Joseph's Palliative Care, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Mon., Jan. 19, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Auburndale. The Rev. Bernard Raschke will officiate and music will be provided by St. Mary's Choir and congregational singing. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held Sun. from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI), Marshfield, and Mon. from 9:30 a.m. until service time at St. Mary's Church.

Mr. Cutler was born April 1, 1921, in Arpin to Percy and Sadie (Cowell) Cutler. He was a graduate of Auburndale High School and was the first president of the Auburndale F.F.A. He and Lucy A. Drollinger were married Oct. 20, 1941, in Vesper. She died Sept. 20, 1997. The Cutlers farmed in the town of Arpin. Roger had been a 4-H Dairy Leader for a number of years. He was a charter member and served on the board of directors of the Wisconsin Guernsey Breeders Association. In 1954, Roger was selected as the "Young Farmer of the Year" by the Marshfield Jay Cee's. He also served on the board of directors of the Central Wisconsin State Fair in Marshfield for many years and was superintendent of the Dairy Cattle Show at the fair for 29 years. In 1976, he sold his herd of registered guernseys. He then worked as a route salesman for Jacobsen Dairy Supply and in 1983 became a dairy plant fieldman for Edelweiss Cheese Company of Marshfield. In 1991, he was named Dairy Plant Representative of the year. He had served on the Auburndale School Board and on the pastoral council of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Ron) Kohls of Mosinee and Lucie (Harry Larsen) Cutler. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Greg (Pam) Kohls, Dave (Diane) Kohls, Carmen (Vince) Iwanski, Cassandra (Daniel) Funk, Travis Weiler, Brian (Jen) Cutler, Gary (Jennie) Cutler, Kim Bowman, Jeff (Jessi) Cutler, and Kevin (fiancee - Heidi) Cutler and 14 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a daughter-in-law, Sharon Cutler of Rhinelander and a special friend, Jennie Drollinger.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, two sons, Dick and Don Cutler, and a grandson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated in his name to St. Mary's Renovation Projects.
