Nancy J. Pakulski, 81, of Plover, died Sat.afternoon, Jan. 17, 2009, at the Strawberry Lane Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wisconsin Rapids. Funeral arrangements are pending at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point. A complete obituary will appear in Mon.'s Stevens Point Journal.

Nancy J. Pakulski, 81, of Plover, died Sat.afternoon, Jan. 17, 2009, at the Strawberry Lane Medical & Rehabilitation Center in Wisconsin Rapids.

She was born Dec. 16, 1927, in Cudahy to the late Rudolph and Marie Thrular and was a graduate of Cudahy High School. On Dec. 28, 1957, Nancy was married to Walter Pakulski at St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Francis.

Nancy worked for Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee, B.E. in South Milwaukee and later was a crossing guard in Hales Corners and Stevens Point before her retirement. While a crossing guard in Hales Corners, she worked with two generations of children during her tenure.

Nancy enjoyed cooking, baking and traveling and she was a member of the St. Peter's Rosary Society, Secular Order of St. Francis at St. Peter's, lifetime member of VFW Post No. 10262 Auxiliary in Plover, Moose Lodge No. 1572, Marshfield Eagles Club and the 82nd Airborne Auxiliary for the state of Wisconsin.

She is survived by her husband, Walter, of Plover and her loving son, Mark (born on Valentine's Day) of Plover, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Nancy's name to St. Peter Parish.

The funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wed. at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Kevin C. Louis officiating. Entombment will take place at 11:30 a.m. Thur. in St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Milwaukee. Visitation will be Wed. in the St. Faustina Room of St. Peter Church from 10 a.m. until the time for Mass. St. Peter's Rosary Society will lead the rosary to be prayed at 10:30 a.m. Wed. at church. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, is assisting the family with arrangements.
