----Surnames: Carlson, Wenger, Graves, Knoll, Helke, Lieber, Newhauser, Carlson, Molin, Rice ----Source: Marshfield News Herald, Marshfield, Wood Co., WI, Sun. 18 Jan. 2009 Carlson, Glorianna (11 Aug. 1931 – 16 Jan. 2009) Glorianna "Sis" Carlson, 77, of 1011 Township Ave., Wisconsin Rapids, died Fri. afternoon, Jan. 16, 2009, at the Wisconsin Rapids Care Center after a battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tues. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. The Revs. Timothy Wenger and Thomas Graves will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Mon. at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at church Tues.. Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Sis was born Aug. 11, 1931, in Wisconsin Rapids to Charles and Laura (Knoll) Helke. She was married to Lawrence Carlson on May 12, 1951, in Wisconsin Rapids. She lived here her whole life while raising her family. She was a lifelong member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and the VFW auxiliary. Sis enjoyed camping, the Packers, reading, Nascar and playing the slots. Survivors include her husband, Larry of Wisconsin Rapids; five children, Steven of New London, Sandra (Dale) Lieber of Wisconsin Rapids, Susan (Phillip) Newhauser of Wisconsin Rapids, Scott (Becki) Carlson of Beaver Creek, Ohio, and Stacy (Clifford) Molin of Tomahawk; grandchildren, Sara Carlson and Scott Carlson II of Beaver Creek, Ohio; her brother, Norman (Mary) Helke; her sister, Erma Rice and her sister-in-law Charlotte Carlson, all of Wisconsin Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and five sisters. She will be missed by everyone who knew her, especially her campground friends at Fish Lake in Hancock. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Mon. at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at church on Tues.. All memorials received will be donated to pancreatic cancer research.
