Lucien was born 13 Jun 1812 in Troy, NY. Co. E. 37^rd. Wis. Inf., lived in Christie, Weston Twp. They lived in Sec. 4, Weston Twp. His marriage to Rebecca Whitney Northrup took place 4 Dec 1846. They were the parents of 7 children and 3 step children: Lucien V., James T., L. Julian, Mrs. Eugene Heath, and George E., all of Elgin. The stepchildren are Mrs. Eliza Copeland of San Francisco, Mrs. E. W. Tuttle of Elgin, and Henry Northrup of Santa Barbara, CA. The family moved to Elgin, IL in 1883 where he was a builder and contractor. He and Rebecca celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1896. Lucien died at the home of his son, L. Julian Zander, on Walnut Ave., Elgin, IL, 15 Apr. 1897.
