James and Dorothy (Badzinski) Stephens 50th Anniversary

Dorothy Badzinski Stephens and James Stephens celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently in Waupaca, WI. Dorothy, the daughter of the late John Badzinski and Alice (Badzinski) Leo Dmytro of Thorp, married Jim, the son of the late Clarence and Faye Stephens of Waupaca, WI on July 7, 1956 at the St. Hedwig’s Church in Thorp, WI. The couple currently lives in Waupaca, WI and winters in Rockledge, FL.

Their children are Dawn and Robert Telfer of Waupaca, Terri and Jim Schulz of Waupaca and Stacey James Stephens of Boston, MA. Their grandchildren are Lucas and Joanne Telfer of Fremont and Kara and Patrick Delaney of Waupaca. Their first great-grandchild is Madison Kate Delaney.

The celebration began with a Mass officiated by Father Paul in the quaint little chapel at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. The service included songs and readings by the couple’s children and grandchildren. Family and friends came from throughout Wisconsin as well as Minnesota, Massachusetts and New York.

A luncheon was held at Casey’s Restaurant and Waupaca County Club following the service. A skit, presented by Jim and Dorothy’s family, provided the entertainment. Friends and five generations of family attended.
