Prom is scheduled for Saturday, April 28th. There will be a post-prom lock in at the Chippewa Falls YMCA.  The school will provide buses to transport the students over and back. The lock in will run from 12:00 -5:00 a.m.  The students will arrive back in Thorp at about 5:45 a.m.  We are asking each student to turn in a signed permission slip from their parents so if there are any problems, we can call the parent. We also want to thank all the parents at this time for their help with the lock in.

On Sunday, April 29th, the high school will be hosting a “Senior Citizen Prom.”  JoAnne Jacks will be performing in the high school multipurpose room for all senior citizens and anyone else that would like to stop in.  The dance will start at 1:00 p.m. and last about two hours.  Cards will be available for those who want to demonstrate their card playing abilities.  The good news is that there is no cost to attend.

The Reality Store enters its third year in existence.  On Thursday, April 19th, the junior class will have the opportunity to find out what the real world is all about.  All juniors will be expected to buy a car, purchase car insurance, health insurance, pay rent, buy food, etc. and stay within their budget. Businesses from around the area will be on hand to sell their products and try to help students understand what it takes to survive in the real world.  If you are a parent or would just like to come and observe we would enjoy having you.

A huge thank you goes out to Jacqui Kadolf and Carrie Skibbie for donating their time in working with students from Ms. Sundstrom’s class.  Ms. Kadolf graciously gave of her time to show the students how to take care of their hair, put on makeup, take care of personal hygiene, etc.  The girls were also given a care package when they left.  Ms. Skibbie provided the meal for the girls when it was time for lunch.  Thank you to both of you!
