Class of 1957 50th Class Reunion

It was an especially memorable and enjoyable weekend for 32 members of the Class of 1957 as they gathered in Thorp for their 50th class reunion.

The festivities began on Friday evening, July 6, when the group met at the Thorp City Park.  A social hour provided time for classmates to renew acquaintances, as many had not seen each other since the 40th class reunion in 1997.  Others met for the first time since high school graduation.

Prior to the meal, Dave Teclaw led his classmates in prayer for the deceased members of the class, for the blessings bestowed on the classmates, and for guiding many of the class members safely to this reunion.

It was a great beginning to the weekend with a wonderful evening of stories, remembrances, and reminiscing.

The planning committee was thanked for their efforts in the planning and work involved in putting everything together. The committee included: Jolanta Mikolainis Grzeszkowiak, Bob Hmielak, Elaine Jakowicz Wald, Ed Kosik and Don Soderberg.

The ’57 class continued their celebration at the All-Thorp Alumni reunion on Saturday, July 7, at Thorp High School.  They had an opportunity to visit with members of other classes, high school friends from classes like 1955, 1956, 1958 and 1959.

The evening included a wonderful dinner, an alumni program in which the ’57 class was introduced, singing, lots of picture taking and more visiting.

The party continued well into the night; then it was heading back home with many more memories of high school classmates.
