Monday’s opening of the Thorp Municipal Swimming Pool welcomed area families with sunshine, sparkling water bubblers and plenty of aquatic fun.  A long line formed well before the 1:00 p.m. opening and soon disappeared as swimmers filled the pool with smiling faces and squeals of delight.  The pool reflects the city’s commitment to its youth and is the culmination of the hard work of the city, various civic groups, and many volunteers.
