Gilman Newslets – P. Finnegan of Thorp is here having the contract to build Anson Heagle’s new residence. – Ed Clapper has opened a restaurant in a part of the Adler building.
 
Adam Adler was down from Gilman on Saturday last to secure posters for an opening dance to be held in his new building at that hustling new town on Saturday evening, November 14th.  The Thorp Ideal Orchestra will furnish the music.
 
75 Years Ago (1933)

Mitterhoffer News – Stanley Pancyz had the misfortune Thursday of having one of his fingers crushed in the cogs of a feed cutter.  Dr. Neis operated, removing the part of the finger to the first joint.
 
50 Years Ago (1958)
 
The first meeting of all future girl scouts and their leaders was held November 7th at the American Legion Hall. Sixty-seven girls were registered in the Brownie and Intermediate groups.
 
25 Years Ago (1983)
 
This Friday, November 11 is the annual Sadie Hawkins dance at Thorp High School. The court for the dance is freshmen, Julie Kodl and Florian Skwierczynski; sophomores, Socorro Alatorre, exchange student from Mexico and Pat Isenberger; Queen Pam Bieno and King Paul Ebben; seniors, Terri Ogurek and Ron Ernst; and juniors, Lori Truckey and Jason Lange.
 
The Thorp Cardinals placed five players on the Small Cloverbelt All-Conference team this season including Tim Wnek, Joel Anderson, Joel Stuttgen, Paul Ebben and Dave Pszeniczny.
 
10 Years Ago (1998)
 
Thorp area residents are guaranteed plenty of fun and entertainment when the Thorp High School Drama Club presents “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” on Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14.
 
Red Ribbon essay contest winners are fourth graders: Kyle Westaby – 1st place and Andrea Weiler – 2nd place; sixth graders: Amber Baures – 1st place and Chris Chmelik – 2nd place; seventh graders: Carrie Abramczak – 1st place and Amanda Kulesa – 2nd place.
