Eidsvold – Miss Rose Jordan was married to James Timlin on Christmas Day at the bride’s home.  The sacred knot was tied by Court Commissioner Geo. Burke.
 
Thos. Steel Jr. has purchased eighty acres of land lying west of Prof. A. O. Rhea’s farm of Mrs. Leroy Graves.  Consideration $1,000
 
75 Years Ago (1922)

 
Bobb’s Mill – A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hedler on Dec. 17.
 
Mrs. (Mr.) Fred Fischer and Mrs. Margaret David, of this village were united in marriage at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church on Sat. morning last, Father Neises officiating. 
 
50 Years Ago (1947)

 
A very pretty wedding took place at St. Camilla Church in Chicago on Sat. Nov. 29, 1947, when Elaine White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph White, was united in marriage to Mr. LaVerne Steele, also of Chicago.
 
Junction – Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kalata are the proud parents of a baby boy born Wed. evening at the Stanley Hospital.
 
Worden – M. J. Haas has purchased several lots between Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire on Highway 53 where they expect to build a home in the near future.
 
25 Years Ago (1972)
 
Funeral services were conducted Sat. at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral home in Owen for Jesse Henry Offord, 77, Route 1, Withee, who died Wed. at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.
 
Russell Mead was notified last week of the death of his sister, June Teter, 58, of Corpus Christie, Texas.
 
John J. (Jack) Bujalski, 72, retired Soo Line Railroad depot agent at Harvey, died recently in a Minneapolis Hospital after a brief illness.
 
Bobb’s Mill – Mr. and Mrs. Bog Corpuz (the former Pat Kopacz of this neighborhood and now living in St. Paul) are the proud parents of a baby girl, Camille Leilani born to them on Dec. 8.
 
10 Years Ago (1987)

 
Fran M. Smiley, 60, Cadott, died Sun. Dec. 27, 1987 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.
 
Adolph C. Frinak, 99, Stanley, Died Mon. Dec. 28, 1987 at home.
 
Edward F. Barski of Stillwater, MN, died Dec.20, 1987 at United Hospital, St. Paul, MN.  He was born in Thorp on Dec. 23, 1914.
 
Former Taylor County Circuit Court Judge Peter J. Seidl, 78, Medford, was killed Sat. Dec. 26, 1987, in an automobile accident in Two Rivers. Seidl practiced law in Thorp until 1962.
