Bill Rice Jr. is the Outstanding Young Farmer in 2006. Kari Skibbie presented the award during the Jaycees banquet held at Cindy’s Banquet Hall November 4, 2006. Bill met the requirements of being in the district, contributing to the community and being involved in water and soil conservation, just to name a few. Bill graduated with the Thorp class of 2000. From there he went on to earn a degree at the Chippewa Valley Technical College and has worked the family farm since graduating. Bill is currently milking 62 Holstein cows and grows hay, soybeans and corn.
