Way Back When

 The Thorp Courier  --   June 13, 2007.

This 8th grade graduating class has just reached a milestone anniversary.  On July 7th they will be holding a reunion and will have another picture to add to their collection of memories.  Does this photograph bring back memories?  Are you pictured here?  Time changes all of us and when you look at the faces of these children and their innocent grins you wonder if they had any idea what their lives would be like.

Pictured are: (L-R) Front Row: Walter Pawlak, Edward Kosik, Theresa Gutowski, Donald Papierniak, Joyce Kubera, Jerome Neisius, and Raymond Price.  Second Row: Stephine (Stephanie) Szczech, Darlene Liazuk, Edward Kaminski, Stanley C., Dorothy Siegienski, and Florence Kubera.  Third Row: John Gersak, Elaine Jakowicz, Kitty Kenney, Charlotte Burzynski, and Tony Wilczik.  Back Row: Jolanta Mikolainis, Richard Przybylski, Father Herbert Zoromski, Roman Marek and Rosille Silkatis.  Look for the 25th reunion photo also in this issue.

Virginia Ustianowski called to tell us that the two men in the photograph in the “Way Back When” from June 6, 2007 are her uncle Louie Nowak and her grandfather Joseph Nowak.  They are shown in front of the tavern that they owned on the Taylor and Clark County line.  The photo of the two men must have been taken prior to 1939 the year Joseph died.
