Way Back When

 The Thorp Courier  --   September 10, 2008

Three girls pretend they are well-to-do women with dresses, hats, and purses. Does anyone know who these young ladies are, or where the picture was taken?  Do you know when the picture took place?  Please let us know and we will pass on any information to our readers.

In our September 3, 2008 issue, we posted a picture of a well-dressed man standing outside by a sign advertising five gallons of gas for a dollar. Eileen Frenette called in with information that the man in the picture was her husband Bernie, at age 18.  The picture was taken in 1937 around Easter.  The picture was taken outside 414 W. Stanley Street, where the two resided, and Eileen still lives.  Thank you for the information, Eileen.
