Way Back When

 The Thorp Courier  --   September 13, 2006

Here is a wonderful old photograph submitted by former Thorpite Gerald Glasshof, now of Marshfield. Gerald’s father-in-law, Emil Malnar, purchased this matched Blue Roan team from the Mattes Sale Barn. The sign on the float wagon reads, “For good horses, see Harold Mattes,”

The driver and passenger pictured are unknown, and no date has been provided. Do any of you have any stories to tell that are associated with this photo?

The ladies seated in the front row are (l-r) Theresa Luzinski, Constance Grajek, and Victoria Walteraitis.
