On November 4, 2006 Jennifer Steffes presented the Outstanding Young Business Person award to Shelly Frankewicz. Shelly has been active in the community workforce for several years and has owned and operated her business, Northern Shears and Tanning, for 3 years. Her business employs two people and she is very involved in the Gilman and Thorp school work-study program. Shelly married Jason Frankewicz in 1998 and is the mother of four children. As if this is not enough to keep her hours filled, she still makes time for her community. Shelly has been involved with the Miss Thorp Program for seven years now and does volunteer work for school and city functions. Spending time outdoors with her family, gardening and basket weaving are just a few of her interests.
