Mary Adams

1877 - 1884

Probably as a small baby, Mary Adams came to to York Township with her parents in 1878; most likely to the Samuel Adams homestead, located in Section 4, across the road from the farm belonging to her aunt and uncle, Emily (nee Adams)  and David Rogers.

The 1880 Census lists a Mary Adams as the 3-year-old daughter of Samuel A.  Adams, a pioneer of York Township, which would put her birth date in the year 1877.  However, her tombstone in York Center Cemetery shows a death year of 1884 which implies that Mary Adams died as a small girl when she was seven years old.

Mary Adams was a younger sister of Cynthia Adams, who later became Cynthia Young, and whose only child was Alice Young Benedict, wife of Rollie Benedict.

Other immediate family members of Mary Adams that are buried at York Center Cemetery include:  her father, Samuel Adams, her mother, Melissa (nee Heath) Adams; her grandfather, Jeremiah Heath; her brothers, Chancey and Hubert Adams; her sister, Cynthia (nee Adams) Young; and her brother-in-law, Edwin Young.
