Matie Gardner

November 1899 - August 18, 1904

This grave (marked M.G.) may be that of a young daughter of John Gardner.  The September 1, 1904 issue of the Republican and Press indicates the following as part of the South Loyal and North York column:

Matie, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gardner, died Thursday August 18, in the hospital at Marshfield where she had been taken some time ago for medical treatment.  The body was brought back here for burial in the York Center cemetery.  The heartfelt sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved parents in their hour of sorrow.

The 1900 Census  for Loyal Township, Clark County, Wisconsin (page 131) lists a Matia Gardner, born November 1899, as a daughter of John and Rose Gardner.
