Jesse Humiston

May 26, 1834 - November 2, 1898

Jesse Humiston was a pioneer of York Township and a Civil War veteran.  He owned a small farm in Section 29.  The 1880 Federal Census for Clark County shows a J. Humiston (35) living in York Township.  Jesse Humiston died by accidentally drowning in a ditch filled with water.  He was Lustina Humiston's husband and Olive Humiston's father, who are both interred at York Center Cemetery.  He was also Jessie Humiston's father.  She married Edward Davis, who as a son of Jerry and Mary Davis.  Both Jerry and Mary Davis are buried at York.
