Esther Livingston

April 1832 - August 29, 1911

Esther (nee Windsor) Livingston was a daughter of Anson Windsor, an early pioneer of York Township.  As such, she was a sister to Sophronia Lawrence Bassett ( a sister-in-law to Jesse Lawrence), Jane Palmer (Joseph Palmer's wife), and Lorinda Lawrence (Horace A. Lawrence’s first wife).  She was the wife of Samuel Livingston.  The 1880 plat map of York Township shows Sam Livingston owning 80 acres of land in Section 21.  Therefore, Samuel and Esther Livingston probably came to Clark County from Sheboygan County in the 1870s and were early pioneers of York Township.  Their daughter, Ella Livingston married Ernest Lindsley, one of George and Sarah Lindsley's sons.  Ernest and Ella’s son, Dean Lindsley is buried in York Center Cemetery.
