Belle Mortimer

April 14, 1879 - October 16, 1962

wpe7.gif (7784 bytes)Belle (nee Davis) Mortimer was a daughter of Jerry and Mary (nee Jones) Davis who came to York Township in the late 1890s.  As such, she was also a sister to Susanna Benedict, Jay Davis, and Pearl Hales who are also buried in York Center Cemetery.  She married Jesse Mortimer, a son of William and Stella Mortimer, who were early pioneers of York Township.  Jesse and Belle Mortimer lived most of their lives on a farm in Section 21 on Pray Road.  Belle and Jesse Mortimer’s daughter was Helen Lawrence/Sisson.
