Viola Palmer

May 15, 1859 - May 10, 1910

Born in Somerset County, Maine; Viola (nee Whitcomb) Palmer was a daughter of Lorenco F. and Lorana (nee Jones) Whitcomb.  She was also the wife of John Palmer; whom she married on August 23, 1876 at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Neillsville, Wisconsin. The 1880 Clark County, York Township Census lists a Viola Palmer (21) living with her husband, J. Palmer (28), daughter Lelia (3) and brother L. Whitcomb (18).  The brother was probably Lorenco D. Whitcomb who married an Annie C. Bart on October 30, 1887 in the Town of York.  The 1880 and 1893 plat maps show John Palmer owning land in Section 9.  Similarly, the 1893 plat map shows an L. Whitcomb also owning land in Section 9 in York Township.
