Eau Claire County, WI

WHEREAS, the pioneers of the lumbering industry established the municipality now known as the city of Eau Claire at the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau Claire Rivers; and
WHEREAS, the initiative and enthusiasm of the residents of the city of Eau Claire have built a commercial and financia center for a large agricultural area; and
WHEREAS, the city of Eau Claire has prospered as a result of its imaginative citizens in creating and providing over 8,700 jobs; and
WHEREAS, the city of Eau Claire has gained recognition as an educational center evidenced by its university and vocational-technical ampuses; and
WHEREAS, the excellant medical facilities of the city of Eau Claire provide a medical center for the surrounding area; and
WHEREAS, the city of Eau Claire, with U.S. Highway 53, 12, State Trunk 93 together with Interstate 94, is connected to all parts of North America; now therefore,

The members of the Wisconsin Legislature, on the motion of Senator Johnson and Representatives Looby and Mato, under Joint Rule 26, extended to the citizens and the city of Eau Claire their sincere congratulations on the occasion of the city's centennial celebration and express their hops for the continuation of the progress and prosperity which have exemplified the city of Eau Claire for the last 100 years.
