Robert and Joan Beyer

Robert and Joan Beyer, 1401 O-Day St., Merrill, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 24 with a dinner and reception at Gail-s Place, Merrill, hosted by their children. Members of the original wedding party attending were Janet Beyer, Merrill; Darlene Hinz, DeForest; Barbara Zoellner, Minocqua; Lucille Zander, Neenah; Bonnie Schwartzman and Wally Schwartzman, both of Merrill; Art Zoellner, Minocqua; and Mark Johnson, Irma.

Robert and the former Joan Schwartzman were married June 23, 1956, in Our Saviour-s Lutheran Church, Merrill. Bob and Joan met when Bob-s brother married Joan-s cousin in 1954 and both were in the wedding party. Bob worked at Semco for 34 years. Joan was a waitress, then worked at Lincoln Wood Products for 24 years.

The couple still plants a small garden and flowers. They love to travel and have been to Germany, Las Vegas, Niagara Falls, Florida, Virginia, California, Utah and on a cruise. They love camping, playing cards, going to activities for their grandchildren and babysitting for them.

Their family includes their children: Rick (Sue), Scott (Dona), David (Mary Jo) and Jeff (Jenifer) Beyer and Julie (Tony) Hartwig, all of Merrill; and Wendy (Bob) Lass, Stevens Point; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
